Han Solo Breakdown

This article by Den of Geek does a shot for shot breakdown of the Han Solo trailer. These guys really go into detail about what each shot means and their possible implications. The trailer is so short and fast that it is nearly impossible for someone to get everything in the one viewing. You also need a lot of background information, specifically from the Star Wars Extended Universe, to understand what direction that they might be going in. This article slows everything down and shows screenshots of the trailer. They also share their opinions about how each scene will actually plan out which is drastically different from my ideas.

John Saavedra, the author of this article, writes “I’m guessing Han is actually infiltrating an Imperial base for one reason or another.” I did not make this assumption in my original review but this would make a lot of sense. That is something Han Solo would do which he has done in most of original Star Wars movies.

There is another shot of Han Solo's back, and he is standing in this long hallway with people sitting down in front of him. I saw this scene and did not have much of an idea what it meant. Saavedra explains that Han Solo is about to play a game of sabacc, gambling game, and win the Millennium Falcom. This game is actually mentioned in when Han talks to Lando in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. After reading the article, it makes sense because it looks like a gambling room. This is a very perceptive on Saavedra's part. I completely agree and think that is what will happen.

Saavedra notices that there are some beats taken from the The Paradis Snare, a Star Wars Extended Universe story. The comparisons are in The Paradise Snare Han teams up with a group of thieves which is similar to what happens in this trailer. In this trailer, Han is teaming up with a group of people who will most likely turn out to be space pirates.
